CaterStar has been an established business for over 14 years through various names & phases. Jan & Laurie Spooner bought the company four years ago after Jan had been managing it for four years for the previous owners. Since that time CaterStar has moved from being one of several caterers on the Central Coast to being the largest, multi-award winning, Gold Licensed Caterer on the Coast.

With a combined total of 50 years experience in the Hospitality Industry in such diverse areas as restaurant & café management, club management, fine dining, bistro & bar management and resort management, we offer a wealth of knowledge and skills to our large clientele.

Our aim is to ensure that each of our clients are treated as an individual, always believing that each and every client has differing needs. By establishing a firm rapport and finding out the maximum amount of information regarding a client’s needs and wants, we believe that every event will be a smooth and professional affair, tailored directly to you. Weddings and corporate events are our biggest market, however, we also cater for a large number of birthdays, engagements, presentations, reunions & wakes.... basically anything!

To make the organisation of your even even easier, you can even purchase your Beverage Package from us as we have a full Caterers Liquor License.

Being a Gold Licensed Caterer means we are regularly inspected by the Health Department, operate from a commercial kitchen, are covered by both public liability and worker's compensation. We also pay award wages and employ fully qualified chefs. This is your guarantee that the service you receive is of the highest standard.

CaterStar Catering has been participating in the Restaurant & Catering NSW Awards for Excellence since 1999. In that time we have been successful in the Corporate Caterer of the Year every year and in 2005 and 2006 we won the State Corporate Caterer of the Year. We also won Caterer of the Year 2005 for the whole Central Coast Region.

The backbone of any service based industry are the staff, and we have the very best there is. From our chefs and function supervisors to wait and beverage staff to our kitchenhands and juniors, we are constantly told by our clients that their service is second to none. Professional and discreet yet friendly and happy, they are there to ensure your every need is met. We do not use professional recruiting agencies, rather we recruit through our staff and this formula works perfectly for us. Although we have a large casual staff, we are a tight-knit group with a common objective, making our clients enjoy every moment of their event. Our staff take a great delight in the many beautiful and varied venues we send them to and we are entirely confident of their ability to conduct each event as if it were their own.

With an expansion into the café arena co-inciding with the move into our brand new purpose built event centre in Somersby in 2007, we are looking to make this year our most successful ever.

We believe that we can always improve on excellence. No challenge is too hard or too heavy. We have raised the bar in off-site catering and we will continue to do so.
